I'm always a bit nervous about trying new things. Once I have, I always wished I'd tried it sooner. This class is about putting you at ease, and gently moving you into poses that will help to increase flexibility and build strength gradually. There's no fancy poses, just you getting to understand your bodies capabilities and discovering how great it is to release tension in the body and mind. If you're not new to yoga and you want to get back to basics and revisit the fundamentals, you'll really enjoy this class too! I look forward to meeting you! This class is 60 minutes. (all levels)

My hatha classes involve building the yoga postures from the ground up. We'll slowly and gradually explore how to build the poses, how to maintain awareness throughout the pose, and to notice the effect the pose has on the body, mind and spirit. This class is 60 minutes. (all levels)
In my hatha flow classes we will slowly link one hatha pose with another (see above description for 'hatha'), using the breath to guide us in our transitions. This will allow you to to stay present with each posture as well as with the transition between poses. This class is 60 minutes. (all levels)
Philosophy Flow is similar to the Yoga Chat class I teach (see 'Yoga Chat' below). We talk a bit of yoga philosophy and how it can apply to our physical practice, and how our physical practice (along with yoga philosophy) can effect our lives. The word 'flow' in this title, refers to how we will link our poses together in a somewhat sequential 'flowy' manner. This class is 75 minutes. (all levels)
My power classes are focused on increasing strength and endurance while maintaining mindfulness throughout your practice. Power Yoga is a vigorous form of vinyasa, which links hatha poses, with breathwork in a 'flowy' manner. Class begins with a warm-up, peaks to flowy postures involving balance and strength, and closes with a cool down and restorative Sivasan (a restful pose). This class is either 45 minutes or 60 minutes, depending where I'm teaching - please check the schedule for times. (yoga experience is highly recommended)
Vinyasa means 'to arrange or place in a special way'. Classes will focus on creating a flow that will bring rhythm to the body and breath, and strength and suppleness to the body. This class is 60 minutes. (Please see schedule for individual class level)
Yin poses are designed to access the deeper tissues of the body by holding poses more passively for 3-5 minutes. It is designed to instill a more meditative experience of our mind and it's relationship to body and breath. Yin yoga meets you exactly were you are - body, mind and spirit. There’s no muscling into poses or figuring out the choreography of a vinyasa flow class. However the body takes time to respond to these long held poses - so be aware that although you may leave feeling restored, this is not a Restorative Yoga class. This class is 60 minutes. (yoga experience is recommended, but modifications can be made)
Yoga Chat is similar to the Philosophy Flow that I teach. We may talk philosophy or we may talk about how to apply a yogic mindset to the various areas of our life. We will bring pranayama (utilizing the breath) to our practice to restore balance and assist us in achieving clarity and harmony in our busy lives! This class is 75 minutes. (All Levels)
Yoga for Multiple Sclerosis
This class is designed for students with multiple sclerosis. Most students use wheelchairs or walkers for mobility in this class. If you are interested in yoga and you have MS but do not use a wheelchair, you might prefer Red Door Yoga's other class on Wednesdays at noon.
